Hang Gliders set up on Coopers Launch in preparation for the Canadian National Hang Gliding Championships in Lumby BC Canada. The View is East towards the Monashee Mountains.
Lumby BC is a Hang Gliding and Paragliding capital in Canada!
The area offers the dedicated Freedom Flight Park, at the base of the famous Coopers Launch, has the most number of mountain launches in one area in the country and has one of the longest good flying seasons in Canada. The Lumby Air Force Flying Club has been flying here since 1976. The annual Lumby Air Races are held on the second weekend of June every year in conjunction with Lumby Days and the 2010 Canadian National Hang Gliding Championships were held in Lumby June 13-19. This was the 10th National flying event held in Lumby BC Canada.
